Bhangra Elite

Support the Fastest Growing UNC Dance Team!

  • Total needed: $1,500
  • Deadline: December 31, 2013
  • some money and some days to go

You’ve seen it on TV, in movies, and at the Olympics, but it happens in Chapel Hill too — welcome to the fast-paced, high-energy dance that is bhangra!

Bhangra Elite is a team of UNC students dedicated to preserving this traditional Indian folk dance by learning and performing on UNC's campus, around the Triangle Area, and across the East Coast. Through our performances, we strive to educate our members and the broader campus community — we perform at 5-8 campus shows each semester, including the recent TEDxUNC, conduct classes during the fall semester, and sponsor our own show in the spring, always making an effort to introduce new people to bhangra.

Through Carolina Creates Crowd Funding, we hope to raise $1,500.  This goal will allow us to enter the top-tier of bhangra dance groups in the United States.  Specifically, these funds will enable us to travel to a national competition in the fall and to build our professional capacity as a team with new accessories, props, and a website.

We appreciate your support as we grow our team!
