Black Student Movement

Support our Northside Community Scholarship!

  • Total needed: $500
  • Deadline: December 31, 2013
  • some money and some days to go

The Black Student Movement (BSM) has a rich and deep history with the Northside Community of Chapel Hill. From work with individual residents and groups such as United with the Northside Community-NOW (UNC-NOW) in the UNC Campus Y, we would like to continue supporting the community for years to come.

For the 2012-2013 school year, BSM hopes to give a scholarship to a graduating senior in the Northside Community. We intend for the allocation of this scholarship to be in collaboration with other student organizations and, at the very minimum, be able to provide the student with $500.  The Black Student Movement Northside Community Scholarship will be presented to a graduating minority student from the Northside Community who will attend a four year college or university in Fall 2013.  If you have any questions regarding this scholarship, please contact Alexis Davis at alexis@unc.edu

About The Black Student Movement
BSM, now in its 45th year, is one of the largest student organizations at UNC Chapel Hill. Our students work to ensure that black students never lose contact with the broader black community within Chapel Hill, through programming and initiatives both within UNC and the broader Town of Chapel Hill. For more information on BSM, its subgroups, and committees, please visit www.unc.edu/student/orgs/bsm/.
